At the 2008 annual meeting of the Auctioneers Association of North Carolina, Inc. local auctioneers from Angier’s Johnson Properties Realtors & Auctioneers, Inc. had a rewarding weekend in Greensboro. Owner/Auctioneer Jimmy Johnson received the Advertising Award in the Real Estate 2-Color Ink category. Dale Young received Best of Category Advertising Awards in three areas—Commercial, 2-Color Ink; Farm 2-Color Ink, and Estate, Multi-Color Ink. Phil Burleson was recognized for his Advertising Award in the category of Estate 2-Color Ink.
Long-time professional auctioneer, Mr. Bryan Blinson was elected the next president of the Auctioneers Association of North Carolina, Inc. “I appreciate the opportunity to serve my fellow auctioneers throughout North Carolina as the president for 2008. This year I will continue to stress education for our members. By providing educational opportunities for our member auctioneers, the AANC helps to make the auction method of marketing a preferable method of promoting and selling both real estate and personal property,” said Blinson.

Meet Steve Auman, Newest Member of the Johnson Properties Team

With his strong community commitment, dependability, and being a “super nice guy,” Johnson Properties Realtors & Auctioneers, Inc. located in Angier is pleased to welcome Mr. Steve Auman known locally for his family business of the Benson Veneer Company. “His knowledge and expertise in the land and timber industry are a natural fit and addition to our diversified marketing team,” said Jimmy Johnson. Bringing his experience as an active leader in community organizations and projects, Steve will be a great addition to these Angier professionals with his emphases in the auction area and other phases of real estate.
His community involvement has been with the Benson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, both the Benson and Johnston County Economic Development Committees, twice served as the Kiwanis President, Cub Scout Pack 19, SJHS Band Boosters, Parks & Rec. coach, and the Benson Area Medical Board. He and his company have been long time sponsors of the various activities of Benson Mule Days. Currently he is on the Board of Directors for the RBC Bank in Benson.
A graduate of Campbell University with a BA in Business Administration, Steve and his wife Susan are active members of Benson United Methodist Church. They have two daughters, Allison and Katherine. Auctioneers of Johnson Properties Realtors & Auctioneers, Inc. in Angier attended the Auctioneers Association of North Carolina convention in Greensboro, NC. Auctioneers Jimmy Johnson, Bryan Blinson and Phil Burleson boosted their business expertise by attending the the Auctioneers Association of North Carolina Convention at the Embassy Suites in Greensboro, NC on January 14-15, 2005.
The annual conference drew a crowd of more than 100 auction industry experts from across the region who gathered to learn the latest developments in the marketing specialty that is auctioneering.
The conference featured 6 informational seminars on a wide range of topics. The purpose of the annual event is to provide comprehensive and coordinated continuing education programs to auction professionals to give them the tools to better serve both buyers and sellers of property, merchandise and specialty items.
Special conference events included a Rookie Auctioneer Bid-Calling Contest; and the Annual Business Meeting which included the election of new officers and a Board of Directors. Bryan Blinson from Johnson Properties was elected to serve on the Board of Directors. Jimmy Johnson finished his term as Chairman of the Board.
The Johnson Properties Auction Team captured multiple advertising awards. Jimmy Johnson won the Institutional-Multi Color Ink, Best of Show; Phil Burleson won the Commercial & Industrial Tow Color Ink; Bryan Blinson won Radio/TV/Audio Visual-Website Best of Show; and Dale Young won Real Estate Two Color Ink.
Beth Blinson was selected to serve as President for the Auxiliary to the AANC. Connie Johnson remains on the Auxiliary Board as an Ex-Officio. Once again our children entered the annual Children's Bid Calling Championship. Heather and Paige Johnson, Rossie and Mason Blinson all received 1st place Rosettes and a $5 bill.
