Wednesday, February 1, 2012 ANGIER, NC – Team members of Johnson Properties Realtors & Auctioneers, Inc. attended the Auctioneers Association of North Carolina (AANC) annual convention on January 20 & 21, 2012. This convention gives auctioneers the opportunity to meet with their Board of Directors, attend continuing education courses and participate in auction competitions and presentations. New board members were elected at this year's convention and Johnson Properties is honored to announce that a member of their team, Dale Young, was elected to serve as the 2012 Director. Dale's extensive knowledge will be a huge asset as he serves on the board; he is a certified Estate Specialist, GPPA (Personal Property Appraiser), Auctioneer, Broker/Realtor and a GRI Designee. Johnson Properties also came away from the convention with 3 wins from entries in the advertising contest. Entries were judged on their content, clarity and how they were utilized. The entries also promoted an auctioneer, their company or an auction they conducted between December 1, 2010 and December 1, 2011. Best of Category was awarded to Jim Johnson for a Multi-Color brochure promoting an Estate & General Household Liquidation auction. Jim Johnson also received an award for an Institutional Multi-Color brochure. Phil Burleson took home an advertising award for a Multi-Page, Multi-Color brochure promoting Real Estate auctions. The team attends this convention each year in order to stay up to date with the changes in the industry so they can better serve their clients. The convention was a huge success and proved to be very beneficial to our team. Monday, January 24, 2011 ANGIER, NC – Johnson Properties Realtors and Auctioneers, Inc. was pleased to bring home 5 advertising awards from the 2011 Convention of The Auctioneers Association of North Carolina (AANC) that took place in Greensboro, NC on January 14th - 16th. The AANC convention is held annually giving members the opportunity to attend continuing education courses, meet with the Board of Directors and participate in fun events, competitions& presentations within the auction industry. All entries for the advertising contest were in promotion of an auctioneer, their company or an auction they conducted between December 1, 2009 and December 1, 2010 and were judged on their content, clarity and how they were utilized. Johnson Properties entered and won in several categories. Jim Johnson received advertising awards in two areas; Real Estate 2-color brochure and Wild Card for a brochure promoting Real Estate& Property Auctions. Best of Category was awarded to Dale Young for a Commercial & Industrial multi-color brochure. Young also took home an award for a Commercial & Industrial 2-color brochure. An award for an E-mail Advertisement promoting a Private Estate Auction was presented to Phil Burleson. Johnson Properties is also proud to announce that Connie Johnson was inducted into the Auxiliary Hall of Fame at the convention. The auxiliary has their own Board of Directors and is in charge of a variety of events and fundraisers for the AANC. She has been a member of the auxiliary for approximately 15 years. Monday, April 26, 2010 ANGIER, NC - Jason Bethune recently joined the Team of Johnson Properties Realtors and Auctioneers, Inc. He is a Harnett County native, studied Economics & Finance at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and in 2010 obtained his North Carolina Real Estate License. Since 2008 Jason has been developing and growing his own business, Bethune Investments, which focuses primarily in sub-dividing property and rental ventures. This experience and his desire to learn more about the auction business will no doubt make Jason an asset to the Johnson Properties Team. Phil will be part of an 11-member board for the AANC, which has been serving auctioneers, auction assistants and their staffs in and around North Carolina for more than 50 years. The AANC has more than 450 members and associates through North Carolina and the United States. Phil has been an Auctioneer since 1984 and a Realtor since 1989. In 2007 he was designated as a Certified Estate Specialist (CES) by the National Auctioneers Association (NAA). He has been a part of the Johnson Properties team for 24 years. With his experience, Phil is sure to be a strong asset to the AANC Board. He will serve as a director on the board until 2012. Requirements to enter the contest included being a member of the AANC, a resident of North Carolina and the entries had to be in promotion of an auctioneer, their company, or an auction they were conducting that occurred between December 1, 2008 and December 1, 2009. The entries were judged on their content, clarity, and how they were utilized. Johnson Properties entered several categories and was proud to bring home the following awards: Best of Category was awarded to Jim Johnson & Dale Young for Commercial & Industrial-Multicolor brochure. Dale Young also took home a Best of Category for Antiques & Collectibles-One color brochure. Jim Johnson had two additional advertising awards; Farm-Two color brochure and General House & Estate Liquidation-Two color brochure. Commercial & Industrial-Two color brochure and Real Estate-Two color brochure were both awarded to Phil Burleson.
